What Baby Tracker is

Baby Tracker is a shared baby log for the feeds, diapers, naps and measurements that fill the first year: breastfeeds with left/right sides, pumping sessions with volumes, bottles and combo feeds, diapers, sleep, growth and medical notes.

Each child gets a profile with a name, birthdate and a share code. Anyone holding the code can join from any browser — signed in or anonymous — and every caregiver sees the same data. There are no accounts to create and no setup beyond picking a nickname.

How live sharing works

Start a breastfeeding, pumping or sleep timer on your phone and your partner's screen shows the same timer ticking within a second or two, counting from the same shared start time — never from when their page happened to load. Either of you can stop it, and the completed feed or nap lands in both timelines at once. Quick-logged diapers, bottles, growth and medical notes travel the same way: each write announces itself to every joined device, which then picks up the changed month.

If the connection drops, timers keep ticking locally from the last known start time and anything you log waits in an outbox on your device, replaying automatically when the link returns. Nothing you entered is lost to a dead zone or a switched-off phone.

How Drive backup works

Every month of events lives as a file pair in your own Google Drive, inside an ACZH Baby Tracker folder named for your child: a machine-readable JSON log plus a plain CSV mirror with the same rows that opens straight into a spreadsheet. Connect Drive once and every save lands there; the live-sync server only relays the moment-to-moment updates and keeps no history of its own.

Google sign-in reuses the same identity for Drive consent, while email or anonymous users connect Drive separately with an account chooser. Declining is allowed: the app stays fully usable, unsynced months carry a pending-upload marker, and a banner says plainly that data lives only in that browser until you connect.

Limits

Live updates replay from a recent window of about a hundred operations; a device that has been away longer simply refetches the affected months from Drive, which is always the source of truth for history. Timers are one-per-type per child, so a second start while one runs offers a stop-and-restart instead. If Baby Tracker saves you a night of confusion, a one-off contribution covers the hosting: support aczh.dev.

Frequently asked questions

Do all caregivers see the same timer?

Yes. A timer started on one device ticks on every joined device from the same shared start time, and any caregiver can stop it. The stop lands in everyone's timeline within a second or two.

Where is my baby's data stored?

In your own Google Drive, one JSON file per month plus a CSV mirror you can open directly. Without Drive connected, data lives only in that browser until you connect.

Can I import my Nara Baby export?

Yes. Choose your Nara CSV export in the Import section, check the preview of counts, dates and caregivers, then import into a new or existing child. Importing twice never duplicates anything.

Do I need an account?

No. Create or join a child with a share code and log straight away, signed out. Accounts only carry preferences across devices.
